What Causes the Tyre Pressure to Drop?

Always ensure that your tires have the correct air pressure to avoid any kind of accident or to stop the uneven wear to your tires. It is very important to maximize your safety on the road. Driving with under-inflated tires can increase the risk of the tire bursting or damaging your vehicle's suspension. Under-inflated tires are the most common reason which causes punctures to the tire.

Check your tires on regular basis and always fill your spare tires with two extra points of air as it is mostly unused in the back of your trunk. The reason for the air to leak is the changes in the temperature affects the tires and it is contracted in cool weather and in hot it expands. For example, if the temperature increases by 6 degrees the air pressure can be raised by 2% easily. This same goes with the decrease in the temperature.

As the tire gets older the bead is loosened and causes the air to leave through the rim of the vehicle. Always check your tire valve if that is faulty it can allow the air to escape easily.

If your tires are leaking air every day then your tires might have a slow puncture that is a very tiny puncture which results in the air leaving the tire and unbalances your vehicle. Get your slow punctures repaired as soon as possible as it could damage the tire permanently.
